Monaco GP 2026
There are races on the Formula 1 calendar and then there is Monaco. First held in 1929, the Monaco Grand Prix is one of the races that forms the Triple Crown of Motorsport alongside the Indianapolis 500 and the 24 Hours of Le Mans, it remains unlike anything else in sport. Statistically it is the slowest Grand Prix of the season, but it always looks the fastest, with a racing line rarely more than millimetres from the barriers as 78 laps of the world’s most famous street circuit pass in a blur. McLaren Racing The circuit winds through the actual streets of Monte Carlo, past the casino, through the tunnel, around the harbour in a principality so small that the entire track fits within a single postcode. Nowhere else in Formula 1 do spectators get this close to the cars. Nowhere else does the backdrop include superyachts, a palace on the hill and one of the most glamorous addresses on earth. The racing may divide opinion but the spectacle never does. In 2026 Monaco serves as the first European round of the season Acm, making it an even more charged occasion as the championship picture begins to take shape. This is not just a Grand Prix. It is a bucket list event that every motorsport fan owes themselves at least once.
